The meeting was called to order at 6:10 p.m.

 Topics discussed:

The first motion in the minutes of May 18, 2005 was amended to read as follows:

“A motion was made to pay up to $200 for the PFO to consult with an accountant regarding the procedures and responsibilities of our organization.”  The underlined portion was added.

John Moulson, an accountant from Plainfield was on hand to answer questions from the group.  These questions included the income level at which it would become necessary to audit the books or file tax returns, the kinds of records needed to be kept and for how long, and the issue of collecting and paying sales tax in the event we would operate a school store.  Mr. Moulson confirmed that our current fundraising and bookkeeping procedures were appropriate.

Space on the PFO website will be made available to each of the 4 classes for the purpose of sharing news about their class activities.

An additional PFO meeting will be needed this year to vote on officers and dates for next year’s fundraisers.  It will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 , at the Golden Greek Restaurant.
