PFO Meeting--Minutes

Attendance:

 The meeting was called to order at 6:10 p.m.

 Topics discussed:

            A proposed re-organization of the PFO to include greater parent leadership and committee utilization was discussed.  This structure will be developed further at the next meeting.

            The dates for next year’s major fundraisers will be selected at the next meeting when the school calendar is finalized.

            Ideas for spending the PFO’s excess funds (including a possible mini-grant program and the purchase of more 8’ tables for the fundraisers) will be discussed at the next meeting.

            The possibility of offering gym bags for sale to the student body was discussed.  The possibility will be further investigated with student council before a final decision is made.

Motions:

            Motion #1 A motion to pay $200 for the PFO to consult with an accountant regarding procedures and responsibilities of our organization.  The motion was made by Chris Millette and seconded by Melody Guillemette.  The motion carried.

             Motion #2 A motion to pay the $47 final payment for a needy student to attend the senior class trip was made by Heidi Montigny and seconded by Dodie Mineau.  The motion carried.

             Motion #3 A motion to pay $180 toward Ellis Tech’s students’ participation in the Summer Basketball League was made by Melody Guillemette and seconded by Heidi Montigny.  The motion carried.

             Motion #4 A motion to pay up to $30 for a video on Dr. Ben Carson was made by Dodie Mineau and seconded by Heidi Montigny.  The motion carried.

             Motion #5 A motion to pay up to $400 for expenses of a reception following the Senior Award Night was made by Chris Millette and seconded by Heidi Montigny.  The motion carried.

             Motion #6 A motion to pay up to $500 for a luncheon for the faculty during one of the professional development days in August was made by Chris Millette and seconded by Melody Guillemette.  The motion carried.

The next PFO meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2005.

The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
