PFO Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m.

In attendance were Melody Guillemette, Cheri Lukowski, Phil Lozano, Joanna Oudin, and Susan Manning.

Topics discussed:

There will be no Senior Class trip.

PFO would like to be involved in the 90th Anniversary of Ellis Tech celebrations.

The PFO (Cheri & Melody) sold approximately $251.00 of Ellis Tech t-shirts and hoodies at the 8th grade open house last night.  People seemed interested in buying more in the fall.   We will need to order more.

The Plainfield Rotary Club is rewriting their scholarship requirements for Ellis Tech students.

Due to the uncertainty of membership in next year’s PFO, elections for officers and check signers will be postponed until the first PFO meeting next fall.  Cheri Lukowski will continue on until a replacement signer can be chosen.

The Business Office requested the check for the CAPT breakfast be written as soon as possible so they can pay the bill.

Mrs Welburn requested $600.00 to pay for additional NOCTI shop awards. Now that more shops are participating, expenses have increased.  Without this money, students will not be awarded as in the past.

Tentative dates were chosen for next year’s major fundraising events.  They are: November 1, 2003 for the Craft Fair.

March 6, 2004 for the Flea Market, and March 27, 2004 for the Antique Show.

Cheri has turned over all the paperwork for the Craft Fair to Melody.  Melody would like to get the formal requests for next year’s fundraisers to be completed now to insure their acceptance.

Motion #1 - To pay an additional $150.00 for the retirement plaques or clocks. The motion was made by Cheri Lukowski and seconded by Melody Guillemette. The motion carried.

Motion #3 - To pay up to $400.00 for the “Beginning-of-the-Year Teacher Luncheon” in August.  The motion was made by Cheri Lukowski and seconded by Melody Guillemette. The motion carried.

Motion #4 - To order 10 more t-shirts and 15 more hoodies for the PFO to sell.   The motion was made by Susan Manning and seconded by Melody Guillemette. The motion carried.

Motion #5 - To write a check to the business office for the CAPT breakfast money the PFO voted on at a previous meeting. The motion was made by Susan Manning and seconded by Phil Lozano. The motion carried.

The next regular meeting will be held at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday June 12, 2003.

The meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m.

 Respectfully submitted by Susan Manning.
