PFO Meeting--Minutes

February 19, 2004

 

Attendance:

            Melody Guillemette        Kathy Faucher              Lori MacDonald

 The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.  

Topics discussed:

            The basketball game with The Court Jesters could not be scheduled due to conflicts with the Ellis Tech basketball and baseball seasons.  Fall dates will be investigated when the sports scheduled is determined.

 

            Elizabeth Cracco will speak on “Depression and Teen Suicide” at the March 18th meeting.  Gary Jost and George Grauer will present “Parental Rights When a Child Reaches 16” at the April 15th meeting.

 

            Faculty, student and parent assistance is requested for the Flea Market and the Antique Show.  Please call Melody Guillemette (774-4947) or Jan Praytor (774-8511 x1135) if you can help.  Ads can be purchased for the Antique Show program.

 

            Bakers are needed for bake sales at the Freshmen Shop Selection Night and the Incoming Freshmen Orientation Night.  Call Melody at 774-4947 if you can help.

 

            The Newsletter will be updated, made available on the website and sent out in the next school mailing if possible.

 

            Babysitting service could be offered at PFO meetings if there is interest.

 

Motions

Motion #1—To limit the expenses of The Antique Show and the Flea Market to $1000 more than the previous year’s expenses for each event.  The motion was made by Lori MacDonald and seconded by Kathy Faucher.  The motion carried.

Motion #2—To purchase 1/8 page ads for the Shopper’s Guide/ Turnpike Buyer up to $250 to advertise the March and April presentations.  The motion was made by Pat Palonen and seconded by Melody Guillemette.  The motion carried. 

Motion #3—To send postcards to 9th, 10th and 11th grade parents for the February 25 presentation on CAPT and the new graduation requirements.  The motion was made by Michael MacDonald and seconded by Lori MacDonald.  The motion carried.

Motion #4—To purchase postage, up to $225 to mail the newsletter to all parents.  The motion was made by Pat Palonen and seconded by Lori MacDonald.  The motion carried.

         

The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.

 

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 18, 2004, at 6:30 p.m.
